Family weekend getaway

Last weekend we went up north to visit family.  On Friday night, we met up with my family in Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square.  We ate at the food court and then headed over to the temple.  The weather wasn't too bad and we were able to really enjoy the lights.  It is always a neat experience walking around that amazing temple with family.  I especially loved watching my kids take it all in with sparkling eyes.  I wasn't able to get pictures because we bought our camera right before we saw the lights and weren't able to charge it yet.

We then went back to my mom's to stay the night.  We had hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls with the traditional china tea set.  My mom is the Christmas Queen.  She makes everything so magical and so much fun!  Her house looks like a Christmas toy shop and it just felt so good to be there.

The next morning we woke up and had an amazing breakfast my mom put together.
Of course we ate off of her Christmas china dishes.  We had pumpkin muffins, keesh and orange juice.  We just relaxed all morning and then headed over to Derek's sister's house.  Bria just LOVES her cousins and was so excited to play with Ainsley.  They had such a good time together.

Then we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Steed's house.  My grandma has a primary song that she wrote and published in the Children's Song book.  It is, "A Special Gift of Kindness" and has always been one of my favorites.  I started singing it to my kids about a year ago and they also fell in love with it.  Bria asks me to sing it every night to her.  We practiced really hard so that we could give that as our gift to my grandma and it was really special.  We warmed up by singing other songs and didn't tell her what we were about to do.  I opened the book up to her song and began to play.  The kids sang their little hearts out and my grandma was in tears.  It was really neat to have an experience like that.

And then we went to my Grandma Jenson's big Christmas bash.  I can't believe my Grandma is still throwing these parties.  She is such a party girl!  It is so fun to all get together and my grandma always makes it so special.  She works so hard to make her family happy and is such a good example to us.

My grandma has made it a tradition to give all the great grandkids pajamas every year.  Here is Bria holding up her adorable jammies.

Bria thanking Grandma.  She just adores her Gramma Jenson!
The Grandkids playing Christmas Bingo with my cute mom.  My mom loves to make her grandkids happy.  She is a kid herself when it comes to stuff like this!

Me and my cousin Melissa.  We have always been close like sisters.

The Great grandkids singing "Rudolph" with Grandma.  It was SO adorable!

We had such a good time with all our families and are so grateful to have them in our lives.  I love knowing that I will always have my family and that they will always love me and be there for me.

P.S. Dani- this is for you!
