Derek was gone on our actual anniversary, so he sent me these BEAUTIFUL tulips!
The night began with going grocery shopping for the very finest food we could buy to cook in our amazing hotel room that included a kitchenette. We went to Harmon's in Farmington and we were so impressed with the customer service! We got the best cheese from the cheese man who had lived in Italy for 15 years. He showed us a block that had just barely been pounded and we got the very first cut! We went to get a steak and there weren't any out yet, so the butcher went back and cut the very best cut! We got up to the checkout and the checker even took our items out of the basket for us! I wish I could go to that store every day! It was worth all the extra cost:)
We then headed up to Park City. We have discovered our favorite place. It is perfect for me and Derek because we just love to get away and relax without any kids and Newpark Hotel is the best spot! We had our very own hot tub on the balcony, a nice kitchenette, a fireplace and Kneaders right below us! Who could ask for more?! We checked in and walked around. It was really cold, but we were just excited to go window shopping without kids! We warmed up in a toy store and looked around at toys for a while. Derek and I can't seem to really get away from our kids because when we do, we just shop for them:)
We got back to the hotel and made the BEST dinner I have ever tasted! Eating dinner together without any interruption was the best night out ever. I actually liked staying in and making our own dinner because we didn't have to rush, we didn't have a waiter bugging us every 5 minutes and it was just me and my amazing husband. We talked and talked and enjoyed every minute of it!
We relaxed in the hot tub and watched all the shoppers below us. It was so nice to be in the bitter cold, but in a hot tub. Mmm. I want to go back just thinking about it:) We then stayed up and watched movies and ate chocolate. We went to bed late, but slept in very late. I LOVE sleeping in nowadays!
The second day we went out to eat, went shopping and just relaxed some more. I love celebrating our anniversary. I am so grateful for Derek and the wonderful man that he is. He sacrifices so much for our family. He works so hard, but never comes home and says he is too tired to help. He spends quality time with the kids and does everything in his power to be a good dad and husband. I am pretty lucky! Love you Derek and Happy Anniversary!
