Tantrum Festival

Today was such a TERRIBLE DAY! Don't worry though, I am laughing because it was so bad! It all started this morning. Erik got up at 4:30 to eat which wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it woke Bria up and she wanted to go potty. So I got her all situated and then fed Erik. I got Erik back down and then Bria started screaming and then woke Erik up! This all started the day full of tantrums!

Tonight my fairly new student came for a lesson, but Derek was out of town so AJ came to watch the kids. Only five minutes into the lesson, Erik started crying. He only got worse and worse as the time passed. I couldn't focus and I could hardly talk over the crying and then Bria came running down the stairs crying for me! AHHH! Not the kind of impression you want to give to a new student. I had to reassure the mom that this NEVER happens! Well, it only got worse. I put the kids in their chairs for dinner and the crying started. Bria wanted the same spoon that Erik had so she threw hers to the ground and screamed at the top of her lungs for 30 minutes straight! A tantrum over a little spoon! Wow. That only got Erik more upset, so then he started crying too and after so much frustration and tears, I just had to grab the camera and laugh about it!

2 hours later:

I didn't just leave Erik there for 2 hours in case you are wondering! We had baths and we just came downstairs for snacktime. I don't want anyone to think that my kids are rotten. They really are such sweet angels, but Bria is cutting her back molars and Erik was just simply having a bad day!

It sounds like you have had a long day! I am sure you will look back on the video and laugh later, just not right now. Good luck while Derek is gone. Too bad you don't live a little closer so I could come watch your kids while you take a break. You are more then welcome to bring them up anytime you want...I would love to watch them.

I feel your pain. Motherhood is rough sometimes.

I am so amazed by your attitude. Way to sit back and take some humor in it! You are a better person than I and I am taking notes for sure. Watching the first video I am feeling Bria's pain. The poor dear is chewing on her hand.

Wow you are amazing. By the time I would have taken the second video I would have been crying too.

I totally feel for you! I have days like that and I laugh at them too because what can you do? They just cry no matter what. I'm glad you laugh and video taped them! I hope you don't have to many of those days. It seems like that always happens when dad is gone.
