Erik is 6 months today. I can't believe how fast time has gone and especially how big he is! We went to his doctor appointment today and he weighed 20 pounds and measured 27 inches long, so he is quite the chunk! He is very healthy and is changing so much. His head is looking so good that it is hard to even tell that there was anything wrong in the first place. We go in on Tuesday for his helmet and he might only have to wear it when he goes to bed, which would be so nice!
Erik has been doing new things every day. He can now pick up his toys and play with them, well, shake them wildly and throw them to the ground! He can sit up all by himself for about 20 seconds. He loves watching his big sister and wants to run right beside her! His giggles are getting louder and more fun. When we hold him up in standing position, he kicks his legs as fast as he can! I think he thinks he is going to take off! Erik LOVES the TV. We can never have the TV on when he is in the room, because he will do anything in his power to see the screen! One time Derek was holding him on his lap and he was looking up at the lights on the ceiling. Derek turned the TV on and Erik threw himself back so his head was dangling upside down off Derek's lap! Erik is such a good sleeper these days, as long as he has his binki and blankie up against his face. He loves feeling his blanket and moving it up and down on his face. It is the funniest thing watching him fall asleep!
Erik experienced his first haircut a few days ago. I loved his long hair, but he was starting to look like a girl! We could have easily put his hair in piggy tails with bows, but of course I would never do that to my boy! He was so intriqued with the sound of the clippers, that it was hard for Derek to cut his hair. Every time Derek would get the clippers close to him, Erik would jerk his head towards the sound, so it took a while! Erik especially loved holding onto the cord. I had to keep pulling it away from his mouth. It was pretty funny to watch! I haven't posted the finished product because it looked kind of funny when he was done because of all his cowlicks. We had to give him a bath and spike it a little and now he looks very handsome!

I can't believe how big he is getting and his hair! It is so long and I am sure that his hair cut looks darling. You will have to post some pictures of the "new do". I hope everything goes well at the doctor and hopefully he will only have to wear it at night. Let me know how it goes. I also sent you an email about the Christmas party so let me know if you didn't get it.
