Halloween was a FUN DAY! We started out with decorating some sugar cookies with my friend, Jana, and her kids. Bria just couldn't resist all the candy and cookies in front of her! She stuffed the candy into her mouth like she was never going to see it again! She even took bites out of her cookie before she decorated it, so the ghost didn't have a head and the haunted house looked more like a mangled square, but it was so much fun watching her try to figure it all out!
Then we got the kids ready and went to the Macey's Spook Alley and Trick or treat. The spook alley was actually really good! The theme was centered around the Disney villans. Someone led us into a dark room that was in 4 different sections. Each section had someone dressed as a Disney villan. There was Jafar, Hook, Ursula, and Malificent. Bria especially loved the room where Captain Hook and Peter Pan were in a sword fight. She LOVES Peter Pan. In each little room, they got a little prize or treat. Then we went around to each department to trick or treat. Bria was not shy when it came to getting candy! She held up her little bucket and yelled, "Trick or Treat!"
That night we had Nick, Jana, and their kids over for some Chili in some way cute pumpkin bread bowls that Jana provided. We had to eat really fast because we had to be over at the church for the Trunk or Treat by 5:30 with our trunks decorated.
We were in such a hurry that on our way out, Derek locked the keys in the house! AHHH! I couldn't believe it, because Derek NEVER does anything like that! It was pretty funny! Luckily I left our bedroom window open, so Derek was able to get in that way. We were a little late getting there, but we had so much fun. Erik was dressed as a Lion, so I decorated my trunk like a jungle and Erik sat in the middle of all of it! It was really cute. Well, mostly just Erik was really cute. My decorating skills aren't that great! Without him in there, it would have been REALLY lame.
In the Jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight... And the giraffe!
We were zonked out after such a fun day, but it took Bria a while to run off all her candy! She had so much fun trick or treating that she is still talking about it!
