Diamonds are NOT a girl's best friend!
My diamonds run away from me and get vacuumed up! I have told my husband about this, so now I feel like it is okay to post this. I am still very devastated, but I have to just keep reminding myself that it was just a thing even though it was a very expensive thing!
This morning I was vacuuming my bedroom and noticed one of my diamond earrings was on the floor. I bent down to pick it up and then I heard a clickety clackety BANG! I had a feeling it was the other diamond earring and my heart just sunk down to my knees. I quickly turned off the vacuum and looked through all my cheap jewelry. It was gone. Of all the jewelry, why did it have to be the expensive one? I took the vacuum apart, pulled the bag out and went searching through the most disgusting bag of dust and junk ever! It was absoulutely disgusting, but I didn't care because I wanted to find my earring so bad! Well, after searching for about an hour and a half, I realized it was gone.
I am not upset because I lost something with great value, but I am upset because my husband gave them to me two Christmases ago. He gave them to me along with some tickets to the Ballet West Nutcracker so I could get all dressed up for the evening. It was the most thoughtful way to give diamonds and that is why I am sad. Derek is so sweet and always does the most thoughtful things for me, and then I go and vacuum it up! I am so mad at myself. Oh well. I do have one, so maybe I could put it in a necklace or something:( I guess I could look on the bright side- I didn't vacuum up my wedding ring! Phew!

I am so sorry, Jeni! That sounds like something I would do!
Oh Jeni that is such a bummer! I can tell you are not alone when it comes to losing valuables! A neclace is a great idea! That is crazy that you couldn't find it!
Oh I am sooo sorry, that is crappy!! Maybe you will find it somewhere someday?? P.s..Hope those kidletts are sleeping better for you!!
I tell you, we can't own anything nice until our children leave the house and then maybe - if we aren't too old to keep track of it ourselves. tee hee Soo Sorry!!
aw ... that stinks! i love diamond earrings! i am glad it wasn't your wedding ring! that would be tragic! i have lost my band, and like jana said "maybe it will show up someday" ... i am still hoping:) i am sorry!
That is terrible, but at least you have a good attitude about it! You're right, it is just a "thing" even if it's an expensive, very pretty thing.
Nobody has asked what my attitude is about it!
