Happy Valentines Day!

Valentine's Day was almost more exciting than Christmas for Bria. It was still a month away and every day she begged me to let her do her Valentines. I finally gave in the week before, but then she wanted to mail them out! She was so adorable. She sat at her little table and wrote her name over and over and put the little stickers on along with the stamps she loved so much. She was so excited to mail them out to all her cousins.

Of course there was a lot of baking to do! Bria and Erik LOVE being in the kitchen helping me out. We made sugar cookies and cupcakes. Bria and Erik helped decorate the cupcakes. Erik had more fun licking the icing off though! We had to put his away to save just for him because they were kind of slimy!

Mmmm!

We celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday because Sundays Derek isn't really home, so we had the kids go on a treasure hunt to find their little Valentines from Mom and Dad. Each spot they went to, there was a little heart with a clue on it. Bria thought that was so cool! She talks about clues all the time now! It was so cute and so fun to watch the kids run all over the house in search for the next clue.
Then we went to the Pizza Factory for dinner. The kids loved it! We just had such a good time together as a family. I used to not really like Valentines Day, but I had so much fun with the kids and it was so fun to see them get so excited! I used to not really be that festive, but now I get so excited to do all these cutsie little things with the kids! I guess kids really have an effect of making you want to be a kid again and I just love it! I love my family so much and am so blessed to have them in my life.

Bria is so sweet! I love her Valentines! How did you do your hunt? I have thought about that before, but I wondered how to do it with kids that can't read.....
