Our Park City Getaway!

A few weeks ago, Derek and I got to go on a very much needed getaway.  I was just getting so overwhelmed by life and being pregnant and just wanted so badly to just spend time with my husband and relax without having kids hanging on me or screaming at me.

My sister, Holly and my mom were so kind to take our kids for us.  I was so grateful for their willingness because I know that Erik can be a scary one to watch!  We made sure to leave our insurance card though!  We went up to Smithfield to my sister's house on Wednesday night and spent the night there.  We had a great time hanging out and just talking.  The next morning, we headed out for our getaway.

We stopped at the Old Gristmill in Brigham City for lunch...MMM!  and then went to Park City.  We went to the outlet malls and just shopped until dinner.  Neither me nor Derek really like to shop, but it was really fun to just hang out and spend money:)  (Derek had a more difficult time with that part than I did).  We then went to dinner at a pizza joint that was connected to our hotel.  It was by far the best pizza we had ever had.  Derek went to Italy on his mission and has never had as authentic Italian pizza like this one:

After dinner, we headed up to our room and watched "Chuck".  We love that show and get it on Netflix because we are behind.  Our hotel room was AWESOME!  The bathroom had heated tile floors which I was grateful for!  We had our own kitchen, fireplace and even our very own hot tub.  At night, it felt so good to sit out on our balcony in the hot tub and look at the mountains and enjoy the crisp, cool night air.   Here is our room.  Notice Derek in the window.  That is the bathroom.
Our hot tub... My favorite part!
The living area.  The couch was so comfy!

The resort we stayed at had everything we needed.  We had a Kneaders right below us which was so nice for breakfast and there were amazing restaurants.  We ate at an Italian restaurant the next night and it was AMAZING!  We sat outside and it was so romantic (and because we didn't want to go inside because we were way under dressed.)  Then we went back to our hotel to watch the free concert right outside our balcony.  Free means, not good, but we had fun anyway!  The band was really good until they started singing and then we just laughed, but it made it that much more fun!

We did walk up and down Main of course.  We mostly looked in the art galleries.  The workers would ask us if we were looking for anything particular and we would just laugh and say, "We have young kids that would just destroy this!"  That was a fun reason to tell them because the real reason would actually be that it was WAY too expensive!  I like walking up and down Main, but I honestly don't get some of the shops.  I guess I am really not a shopper, thank goodness for Derek!

I am so glad we got to go on this little getaway and am so grateful for my mom and sister for watching our kids.  I feel so refreshed and ready to get back into my life.  I really missed the kids on the third day and couldn't wait to get back to see them!

Sounds like such a fun kid-free getaway! It's nice to have those now and then! Your kids are getting so big, I can't believe how much they have changed. That's so cute that Bria threw you a party!
