We found a HOUSE!!!

We finally did it!  We received an offer Easter weekend and we found a cute house in Orem that was already being built and we are under contract with that house!  We are SO EXCITED!  It has been a long hard year, but oh so worth it.  Looking back, now I can see the incredible blessings that I may have skimmed over in the process.  It is amazing to see how much we were blessed.

Last year exactly at this time, we put our house on the market.  Life was getting absolutely crazy with Derek's promotion and we hardly saw him.  Derek was extremely busy with work and was under a lot of stress and so it wasn't really the best time to be selling our home, but we did it anyway.  It was really difficult to keep the house perfect with three kids.

I showed the house quite often in the beginning, but things slowed down.  I just felt it wasn't really our time to go yet.  I am so grateful that I was able to stay longer and strengthen my friendships on our street.   We were showing the house, but never heard of any interest in putting a single offer down.  No one even tried to low ball us!  We were shocked every time another townhouse sold before ours because of course we loved our home so much and I felt bad that no one wanted our home.


 In January, we decided to be a little more aggressive and we lowered our price.  I was showing the house at least twice a week and in March I was showing it almost every other day.  I was getting drained of keeping my house in a perfect state all the time.  It was also stressful getting the kids out of the house and having to keep explaining to them that we couldn't go in our house because other people were in there looking at it to see if they want to buy it.  Erik was always scared to go in his own home and always told me, "But someone is in our house!"  It was heartbreaking trying to have our home and yet keep it staged like we didn't live there.  

Selling our home was one of the hardest things that we have gone through as a family, but we are so happy that things worked out the way they did.  We just kept saying that the reason our home wasn't selling was because the home that was for us just wasn't ready yet.  It was absolutely true!  This beautiful home we found in Orem is a new build and we couldn't be happier with the area and floor plan.  We are so excited to get into our brand new home!!
