Conference Weekend

I love Conference weekend, probably for all the wrong reasons like having my husband home for the whole day on Sunday! Because Derek is in the Bishopric, Sunday is usually a crazy day for us. But over Conference, we took advantage of being together and spent the whole day together and just loving every minute of it! Sunday morning, I got to sleep in because Derek didn't have his early morning meeting. Instead, he took the kids while I slept. When I woke up I heard, "Breakfast is ready!" Derek prepared the most delicious breakfast, pancakes and fruit. We relaxed while we watched the first session of conference. It was hard to pay attention with the kids, but I felt a wonderful, peaceful feeling nonetheless. I am so grateful to be a member of this church and I am grateful for the leaders and all the counsil they give us.

After the first session, Derek made an Italian lunch. I know, I have an incredible husband and am very grateful for him. Derek doesn't only make a wonderful meal, but he makes it look beautiful. He should open his own Italian restaurant because he is that good. We enjoyed our perfect lunch, watched the second session and headed up to the beautiful canyon. We wanted to catch the fall colors before they disappeared. The yellow and orange trees looked beautiful against the snowy mountains. Bria loved running around, especially in the mud!

I am just so grateful for moments like these where we get to spend time with each other and especially when we spend that time listening to the Prophet and Apostles. I love this gospel with all my heart and am so grateful to have the knowledge of who I am and why we are here.
