How did I get so lucky?
Mother's Day was absolutely PERFECT. Derek is such a good husband and spoils me rotten! Several weeks ago, Derek called me and told me over the phone that he had my Mother's Day gift and he couldn't hold it in any longer. I thought, this must be pretty good if he can't keep it a surprise. He usually acts like he isn't going to do anything for me and then catches me off guard. Well, that is what he did when he got home. He never said anything. Right when I sat down at the table I was about to ask him when I spotted the envelope on my plate. I opened it up and there were Stadium of Fire tickets. I was really excited because I have never been, but I couldn't figure out why Derek couldn't keep it a secret. Don't get me wrong. I was extremely excited, but I just couldn't get why he was just DYING to give it to me a month early. He then told me to go upstairs and type in Stadium of Fire 2010 and there was Carrie Underwood all over the page! I love her and have been wanting to go to her concert so badly, so I am SO EXCITED!
On Mother's Day Derek made yummy, homemade waffles, and an omelet to die for! During Sacrament meeting, the Bishop told Derek to go sit down with his family and I just about fell over I was so excited! I got to sit with my entire family for the first time in two years, well in our ward anyway, and it was SO nice! Erik made me a fruit loop necklace and colored a cute card and Bria made a card for Grandma Jenson. Ha ha! That's okay because she made me cards all week that were so special.
After church, Derek cooked up some prime rib and it was so delicious! For dessert we had angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Derek sure knows how to make me happy!
Derek is such an incredible husband. I am so grateful to have him in my life and I feel so blessed to be with him for Eternity. Thanks Derek for making me SO happy. I love you so much.
