Prayers for Erik and any suggestions?

Erik has had an ear infection for over a month now and we have tried two different antibiotics, but nothing seems to be working. I took him in yesterday to hopefully see that this second medicine took it away, but it hadn't. So he had to have a shot. If his ear infection hasn't cleared up by tomorrow, the doctor said he may have to get the tubes. From what I have read, I am a little nervous about the operation. I know it is a very common procedure, but I am still worried about it. There may be a chance that he could partially lose his hearing and there are other risks.

The reason I am posting this is because I am hoping everyone will pray for him, but also if anyone knows anyone who has had this done, if you could let me know how it went and how the baby recovered. Also, if anyone knows if there are other options if he still does have the ear infection. I trust my doctor completely, but I thought it would be a good idea if I heard what others have done in this situation.

Erik has been a trooper though. You would not know he has an ear infection because he still smiles all the time. Erik is such a happy little guy and has blessed our home so much. We just love him so much and hope that we go into the doctor's office tomorrow and hear good news!

I have had several friends and family members undergo the whole tubes in the ears. From what I know, there were no bad reprecussions of it. Only made things better. Does he need to be put out? I can be your comforter if that is the case. We will pray for him!

Tubes is actually a pretty standard and common outpatient procedure. They only put those risks because they have to and the chances that any of those happening are slim to none. It is because of liability and everyone is sue-happy these days.
It is scary to have your little guy under anesthesia. Luckily it is not a long procedure and he will be back in your arms in no time. You guys will be in our prayers!
