Derek got held up at work and called to tell me he wouldn't be able to get home until 6:00. Well, we were ready to go and I didn't want to go through all that work to get there just to go to bed! So, the Baileys and my little family headed up Spanish Fork Canyon. Well, I didn't realize Derek didn't know where we were going and I hung up with him and took off. We got to our campsite and a couple hours went by and I started to worry. We didn't have any phone service so there was no way to contact him. Nick, Jana's husband, told me he told Derek the day before where we were going, but that did not ease my worries. I knew that Nick probably told Derek where we were going, but I kept thinking that Derek just forgot or didn't even really pay attention since we were all going together anyway. Well, that was the case. Derek was so busy with his deadline, that he didn't even think to ask where we were going. When he got home around 8, my neighbor who was outside when we left was still sitting there told Derek we left without him jokingly. Derek then replied, "Yeah, do you by chance know where they went?" Ha! My neighbor then said, "Name some campgrounds." Oh my goodness, this wasn't looking good at all! Derek started naming some in Spanish Fork because he at least knew that much information! She then yelled, "Yes! That's the one! I think..." Derek remembered Nick mentioning waterfalls, so he went inside and did a search on the internet of campgrounds with waterfalls and found Diamond Forks. He thought that sounded familiar and that was definitely where we were! He ended up driving right to our campground! That is Derek for ya. He can figure anything out, I swear.
I wasn't as camera happy as usual, so this is what I got of the kids. Erik wasn't in a good enough mood to take pictures of.
The next day we went to my good friend's birthday party. She turned 30 and is from Maryland, so they had a huge crab festival. The crab was shipped fresh right from Maryland. Kathy is way big into food, especially expensive, good food! The fun part was that you had to come prepared to get dirty because it is way messy! I didn't dress for the occasion because I was determined not to try it, but when Kathy looked at me and asked me I couldn't say no! I gagged, pulled off the legs and gagged some more. Then I said, "Now what?" She then handed me the leg and said, "Here is the meat..." and I just about threw up! I am definitely not a crab eater, maybe if I didn't have to disect it myself, I might enjoy it better. The meat probably would have been good if I didn't have the crab's eyes looking at me! I didn't take any pictures at the party, but I brought some crab home for Derek to try and we had a little too much fun...
Hi little crab, I am just going to rip you apart and eat you!
The crab bids farewell
Sorry little crab! It is time to eat!
On a cuter note...
Erik's favorite spots in the house are the entry and the upstairs bathroom where he rummages through Derek's drawer for toothpaste. He LOVES the toothpaste tube and will play with it more than any other toy. He will stand on the stool and reach in to only find the toothpaste. If he pulls something else out, he chucks it and keeps up his search until he gets a hold of the toothpaste. Crazy kid, but so cute.

Aren't kids funny? I love Erik's favorite spots =) The crab looks way yummy, blake and I love anything seafood. We also have been trying to decide when Brooke will be ready to go camping with us.
Okay totally love the crab pictures!! You are so daring, I am way impressed!
