Zak's Blessing Day

Yesterday, Zak was given a beautiful blessing by his daddy.  All of our family came and it was a beautiful day.  We decided that since our house is so small that we would split up and do my family in the morning, before the blessing and his family after.  We have such supportive families and are extremely blessed.

My family.  The neatest people I know are in this picture:)  Love them all so much!

I just loved Zak's face in this picture.

My AMAZING sisters!  I am so blessed to be best friends with my sisters.  They are truly the best examples to me and I couldn't live without them!

Zak's blessing was just so beautiful and my favorite part was that Zak would be an inspiration to me.  I am so excited to see what he will be doing in his future.  I am so grateful for the Priesthood and that we get to have these special moments.  I love the spirit that comes during baby blessings and it was definitely there at Zak's.  I even got up to bare my testimony which is very difficult for me.  I am already not very good with words when I am in front of a big crowd, but to make matters worse, Erik followed me up there.  I didn't know he followed me up, but apparently it looked like he was coming with me and that I knew he was with me so no one stopped him.  Half way through my testimony, I could see people laughing and then I heard some ruckus behind me.  Something just didn't feel right.  I thought, "oh a little kid is up here.  How funny.  Where is their mother?"  Then I turned around, and it was MY son!  I was so embarrassed and so shocked that I couldn't hardly even finish my testimony. It would be one thing if he was just sitting up there quietly, but he was running back and forth, hitting notes on the organ, squealing, and popping his head up and down behind the chairs playing peek-a-boo with the congregation.  I quickly finished my testimony, and I don't even know what I said, but it doesn't matter because I think Erik was more entertaining that no one was probably even listening to me!  I picked Erik up and sat back down.  AJ, my brother-in-law was sitting on the outside of the pew and Erik escaped right when I sat down.  I almost jumped over AJ, but then realized I was in a dress.  He was so quick that there would have been no way to catch him.  I had to then chase him down and we were zig-zagging all over the stand.  I have never been so humiliated in my life!  I took him outside and just cried. I just hope one day I will look back on this day and just laugh.  I am sure I will.

After church, Derek's family came over for dinner. We had a great time.  I do have the greatest in-laws.  Derek's siblings treat me just like their own sister and his parents like their own daughter.

I have to explain these next two pictures.  When Erik was born, my sister-in-law, Erin also had a baby girl, Capri.  Capri is only 6 days younger than Erik.  When we announced we were having another baby, Erin also announced they were having one as well!  I had another boy and she had another girl.  So we have done this twice in a row.  Daphney is only 3 days younger than Zak.  When Erik was blessed, Capri was wearing the same dress that Daphney wore to Zak's blessing so we couldn't help taking the same picture!  The only difference is that Erik and Capri are only two weeks in their picture and Zak and Daphney are over a month.

And then of course there were horse rides on AJ!

It was really a beautiful day.  Zak was a perfect, little angel all day.  He has brought so much love and joy to this home and we couldn't be more grateful.
