My kids are so lucky to have such a loving daddy who works so hard to give them the very best life. And I am so blessed to be married to him! Derek is such a hard worker and yet still fits in the time to be a really good dad. A couple months ago, Derek was promoted, replacing his boss. It was a huge jump for him and has cost him a lot of his time, but he has not let that take the place of spending quality time with the kids. Derek is extremely stressed and could just come home, lay on the couch and just try to take a break, but he doesn't. He plays fun games with the kids, throws them in the air, tickles and chases them, reads to them and then helps put them to bed. I love how he spends time in their bed tickling their backs and talking to them about their day. I am so grateful that Derek is a worthy priesthood holder and is able to give the kids priesthood blessings when they are sick or having a hard time. The kids just love their daddy so much and we are so lucky!
